Alex Nicholson moved to NYC from Ottawa, Canada in September of 2011 to attend Circle in the Square Theatre School. He immediately fell in love with the city and all the opportunities it had to offer.
His favorite credit to date is playing Benny in “In The Heights” at Portland Center Stage, for which he was nominated for a BroadwayWorld Portland Award.
Other credits include: T.J. in Sister Act at the 5th Avenue Theater (dir. Lisa Shriver), Harlem ensemble for Barrington Stage's “Ragtime” (dir. Joe Calarco), U/S Rawdon (performed) in Vanity Fair-World Premiere (by Kate Hamill) with the Pearl Theatre Company (dir. Eric Tucker), Spangles/Mr. Lemmings in "Wanda's World" (Laughing Giraffe Productions),
His other big passion is producing. He founded his own production company, The Artist's Sandbox (ASB), in fall 2015, where he produces everything from theater to dance to podcasts to film.
